Day at the ocean on famous beaches in Curacao.
Driftwood signs with names of famous beaches on Curacao, A wonderful day at the sea that is enjoyable. Grote Knip, also called Playa Abou, is a 40-minute drive from Willemstad but beautiful white sand and turquoise water without large resorts.
Playa Kalki is well known for its limestone cliffs and fine white sand.
Porto Marie Beach, or Playa Porto Mari is one of the best known and most beautiful beaches of Curacao. The beach is owned by the Porto Mari plantation. Very nice snorkeling and if you are lucky you will meet Willy en Woody, these are the pigs who also enjoy here on the beach.
Playa Piskado is a small beach just above Grote Knip in the north of Curacao. People come here mainly because of the diving and snorkeling and the huge amount of turtles that are fed by the fishermen, hence the name piscado = fish
Kokomo located in the Vaersenbaai just above Blauwbaai Beach is also worth a visit. this looks very nice because of the mountains around it, there is a cozy catering business where local music is often played.
Cas Abou or Abao has the most beautiful water of all the beaches of Curacao. It also has an impressive beach with white sand and palm trees, but the coral reef under water makes it especially popular with snorkelers and it is beautiful.
Mambo Beach is one of the most famous beaches of Curacao. It is located at the landscaped Sea Aquarium Beach where you will find the Curaçao Sea Aquarium. There is a large boulevard with many restaurants and beautiful shops, if you fancy a party then this is the place to be.
I could write for hours like this, but time and again I find my inspiration here on the island. But I'm not a tour guide, I'm an artist, so I'm going to paint again.
